Hi, I’m Somya, a girl in her early twenties, trying to build a dream by the name of Label Somya Goyal.
But before it became a label, clothes were simply a part of my life. A rather complicated one.
My relationship with clothes has always been a little bit of love and hate.

The love began when I was a child. I was fascinated by the way people dressed, the clothes they chose, the way they styled them, the little details that made an outfit feel like them. I would watch people and imagine how those clothes would look on me.
But then came the other side of it.
As a child, I was deeply underconfident. And one of the places I disliked the most was a trial room.
A room full of mirrors, reflecting you from every possible angle, can feel rather unforgiving when you are already unsure of yourself.
I struggled to find clothes that made me feel good in my size. And even when I did find something, I often found myself looking for reassurance; Does this look good on me? Do I look okay? Should I wear this?
I was constantly seeking validation from the people around me, because I hadn't yet learnt to find that confidence within myself.
That was the hate.
And the love?
Well, the fact that I eventually decided to start a clothing label of my own probably says enough.
Somewhere along the way, my relationship with clothes began to change. I slowly became more comfortable with what I wore, with how I styled myself, and most importantly, with how I saw myself.
I stopped asking everyone else if I looked good and started asking myself if I felt good.
It has been a long journey from that little girl who was afraid of the mirror to the woman building a brand around clothes today. And honestly, it isn't a journey that ever really ends.
I am still learning. Still figuring myself out. Still discovering new versions of who I am.
And perhaps that is exactly why I wanted to create Label Somya Goyal.
I want to create clothes for the woman who is still finding her confidence.
For the young girl learning to be kinder to the reflection in her mirror.
For the woman navigating motherhood and slowly finding her way back to herself.
For the woman who wants comfort without compromising on how she expresses herself.
For the woman in her forties, fifties, or beyond, embracing the changes that come with time.
For every woman who has ever stood in front of a mirror and wondered if she was enough.
Because I don't believe clothes are meant to change who you are.
I believe they should help you feel more like yourself.
That is what I want Label Somya Goyal to be : a collection of stories, details and silhouettes that become a small part of yours.
I design for you.
To make you feel confident.
To make you feel comfortable.
And most importantly, to make you feel you.
Because at the end of the day, these aren't just clothes.
They are stories that you can wear.
With love,
Somya
